The Gowanus Canal Conservancy is an organization “dedicated to facilitating the development of a resilient, vibrant, open space network centered on the Gowanus Canal through activating and empowering community stewardship of the Gowanus Watershed.”

The design’s science or field journal look and feel was inspired by the local high school student who participated in the project, designing and prototyping habitats to contribute to restoration.

The design refers to Post-It notes, handwriting, and polaroid photos, leaning into the feeling that we are peering into a work in progress.

Clustering smaller chunks of text makes robust and thorough writing legible and digestible.
